Sigh, you have to have a .rar extractor to open up rars. Just go to download.com or google and search for one. There's a gazillion free ones out there.

if this mod keeps going the way it looks to, it will single handedly breathe life into quake 4...I swear!

this is a beta I know but ill be fucked if Im not having more fun than I thought possible playing this game!

it needs alot of fixes, but for the first time I can actually see myself getting into quake again.

Well I extracted it to my Quake4 directory. Then tried to join "Q4W Test Server" and it gave me an error message in console saying "Couldn't load map def/14dm1.def". Even though i have that map alrdy.
Were you born a fat slimy scumbag puke piece of shit or did you have to work on it!?

Just goes to show, make what you want, if ppl like it they will play, dont make a mod for community, its to scattered in its likes and dislikes. :icon26:

Wow, much more fun. The air control is a bit much maybe but it will get worked on no doubt. Could be fun. :icon25:

no, they complain about mods that change too much (ie. not merely a vanilla Q4 enhancement) being the comprehensive competition mod throughout leagues and tournaments.

Actually, Quakeworld was released after Quake1.

Many of us were used to the Quake1 "slippage" but many others wanted that newfangled client prediction stuff. The iD people were stunned that people were actually preferring internet play vs network play and thus iD created Quakeworld.

Don't you think, that Q4W is toooooooo fast?

I have jumped around some maps and if u get some speed u jump over the map imo EXTREMELY fast. It is almost like in PK.

But I really like aircontrol in this game and hud works - with awaiting simple items and more, Q4W could be another great mod.

Probably like playing q3dm17 in CPMA (where you can grab MH and RA in one quick move, step on the RG jumppad and turn around in the air to go back)? :) Mods with doublejumps and air control need tighter maps with few jumppads.

This air control is absolutely insane. It doesn't even make sense to me. You can turn all the way around and go back like five times as far as you went forward. It is so rediculous!

The air control takes a bit of getting used to and is still screwing up my movement but it's not too bad. Maybe they could tone it down a touch in the next beta though. My two main issues with the mod so far are:

1) The nailgun has been slowed down too much, to the point of becoming useless.

2) The railgun has had reload times AND damage reduced. IMO they should just leave the reload time alone and reduce only the damage if they want to tone the rail down a little.

It is ridiculous, but it's a beta. You can make infinitely small turns currently without losing speed. :D

No dj's yet. :icon7:

The RL is a tad too fast for my taste. I don't really like the Q1/QW rocket speed.
