riddla: hey hey :)

inolen: Am I missing something here about orio and a stanford sweatshirt?!! hmm!

Orio: Did you go to Stanford (Palo Alto, CA)?

MKJ: Hmm! I wonder if Quakecon will ever allow a type of contest where it would ship ppl from Europe to experience it there!

[xeno]Julios: I saw Pappy at Quakecon this year, he's a great guy. Although, he destroyed my ego when he said his news was always better than Q3W's. I know for a fact I had some unique news, so I beg to differ, but for old times sake I didnt give him a hard time for thinking he's the best newsie of all time for Quake. ;) I dont know if he gets paid by Gamespy, but I know he's still at the site.

Dark Metal: that's me talking to j00! Not that you said that. I emailed you years ago and your email kept bouncing.

saturn: With a new guy, I wont get into detail of 'who' he is, but he's from quake 1 days, so it was an automatic attraction from our history in gaming. ;)

To All: What games are you guys playing these days? Or are any of you even 'gamers' these days? Any of you who arent, SHAME on you! I've been digging into Quake 4 more recent, but was into UT2k4 and City of Villians until I got busy with lots of things at work and started working late nights the past few weeks.

Yes, I got a master's in EE from Stanford. The one by Palo Alto, CA, though it has its own postal code.

I've got several games in progress right now... Dragon's Quest VIII on PS2, Project Gotham Racing 3 on xbox 360, and Perfect Dark Zero on xbox 360. I played some Quake4 online, but can't seem to maintain a good framerate no matter how much stuff I turn off.

Wiskey: Hey you!

MKJ: my b/f is addicted to Civ4, he stopped playing WoW after he bought that game. :) I dont think I could get into a turn-based strategy since my beta test days at Mplayer. Games like Gettysburg and Civ were very hard to control since I had to wait for the opponent to go and it DRAGGED on big time. It seemed like some of the beta testers (to get the Multiplayer working inside Mplayer) always would go get something to eat, or go to the store, and the list went on. I was always sitting there for 15 mins waiting for my turn. It truly sucked, so I just have some very jaded memories... heh

Orio: Nice list of games there! As for Quake 4, it seems like I can't get the game to 'feel' the way I want to yet either. I am sure more mods will come out, or the current mods will be better tweaked soon. I spent hours yesterday trying to get the bob to turn off on the server for Seismic Showdown semis/finals, as it was giving me motion sickness monitoring the people on Thursday night's prelims. Every time I would type everything through admin control area it was say successful, I would double check it, it was definitely working. Then it would change back after around 5 mins. It just wouldnt stick, it drove me crazy yesterday. I just dont get why they made bobbing inside Quake 4 to be server side, quake 3 was great because I could turn all of that off. :( Oh well, check out the broadcast of the Semis/finals for Seismic Showdown if you get a chance. Kornelia was on there, and I was on there as well. It was so much fun last night! in fact, I have to watch what was aired today, just havent had time with Christmas shopping.. *sigh*

Duhard: omg, its duhard! <3 wait.. hey now, be nice to Ezekiel.. you guys better be glad I dont have admin controls anymore! ;)

As for that match there...are those people playing at a LAN match, or is that something they just sign up for and play from their home connections?

Seismic Showdown was an online event, so everyone had a set up from home and joined our Tournament servers. The only one that didnt was Kornelia. I felt bad that she had a camera light glaring in her face and a different computer, and set up than she would have from home. But I am glad she flew in, and did some great commentary!
