Almost guaranteed. With a government that has no regard for the international community, a black and white interpretation of reality, and a segement of the population that will swallow any lie or justification provided its just a matter of time.
Its going to get to the point where if the US wants something and you dont pony up quick and your not a solid classic western nation, euros, canada etc, then your going to be fucked, especially if your in the middle east. They will continue to play the terrorist card, and indirectly play on the religious intolerance, fear, and bigotry present in every country around the world. It doesnt matter if civilization is or is not short sighted, when the idiot with the biggest stick and the will to use it is.

If you are convinced your leaders are corrupt, if you're convinced that they cannot - and will not - protect you and your family and if you're convinced that there will be another attack on US soil within the next few months...why don't you leave now?

Ummmm...not when the White House is flinging propaganda about Venezuala's democratically elected President (not to mention Pat Robertson publically calling for his assassination).
Also don't forget the catastrophic withdrawl of support for Argentina a few years ago that turned that country upside down practically overnight. It is still recovering with massive poverty and unemployment.
