Lithium?

Post by proleezy »

Does anyone know if anyone is working on a Lithium server mod for q4?

Although I haven't done any mod work, I'd like to start on a Lithium project if nobody is doing it. Can anyone also tell me who did the first Q2 lithium? Thanks in advance

Matt "Whitefang" Ayres wrote Q2 Lithium. Hes not been seen for many years.

I posted on FP at one point saying that I might attack it after Domination was working, but I've now got something else to keep me busy, so I'm not working on it.

Someone else posted saying they wanted to make one, before the SDK came out, but since theres no sign of that happening I suggest you get on and give it a go :)

IIRC Lithium was something like OSP (more cfg options) and it also had some runes, "pro-rocket" and grapple, right?

Well it had a hell of a lot of things all rolled into one. It had:
* lots of server admin functionality (voting, admin, refs etc) - like OSP / CPMA / Q4Max
* A variety of HUDs (not too dissimilar from OSP/CMPA/Q4Max)
* lots of tweakable variables for server-admins adjusted weapon characteristics (inc weapon banning, changing damage values etc)
* Runes which randomly spawned around the map.
* Offhand grapple
* Various other changes (eg anti-camping code, "safety" period after spawning etc)

One of the things I quite liked about Lith was the way how scoreboard sorted by the "frags/hour" figure, rather than straight frags.

So should i stick with this board while working on it.. i need all the support i can get i guess haha.

Yea, I've been craving for some lithium so bad lately, so I'm gonna go for it starting today. Like I said previously, I was never on the programming side of modding, so it's pretty new to me; I can use all the friends i can get lol.

Cant go to far hanging around here in the programming forum then. Also get in touch with these groups, what I know of lithium it seems to be a more kitchen sink approach like XBM but either way these 2 seem to be the core mods at the moment.

Q4Max - http://q4max.com/
XBattleMod - http://www.x-mod.org/?action=news

yeah, lithium seems exactly like xbattle..
q4max won't be much configurable.. it will force everyone to what they think is best.
so xbattle is what you are looking for proleezy :)

What is Q4Max forcing on anyone bandit? Shotgun bug fix, and better respawn code, for shame... :icon26:

Honestly I only mentioned q4max for completness, XBM is what your looking for nearly to a T. Q4max is a focused competition mod, xbm will be your configure everything mod.
