i have some questions

greetings...

1. when i pick up ammo it leaves behind a transparent ammo box which sometimes confuses me. is there a way to disable this? how?
2. is it possible to peform the bridge to rail jump in the new dm6 redux? i have tried, but failed.
3. how can i show a timer so i can time items?
4. how come the all-seeing eye won't load any q4 servers? i have the latest eye update...
5. why do most servers i try to join have files that i don't, when it's not even a mod or map i don't have. most servers do this and i fuckin' hate it.
6. how can i remove the annoying graphics that appear when i zoom with the mg and rg.
7. any connection tweaks like q3 maxpackets?

if you can answer any or all of the above questions, please do. ty.

2. Not in the old way, you need to use the 25h pillar.
3. The default timer should be there if there is a timelimit on the server, otherwise not possible.
4. Use kquery, or Echelon.
5. Blame Raven, we all do. All you can do is find some servers you ping well to, track down what maps they have and play there. http://esreality.com/?a=post&id=944727 That post covers the tourney side of things.
6. DOnt think it can be done, I dont use zoom so I dont know.
7. Nope, another thing missing afaik.

Eeeeerm, jester, it 100% is possible to do the bridge to rail and the rail to bridge jump the way we used to. Kthx.

Really? Without getting a huge run up? Like 2 jumps? Most people seem to think otherwise. :shrug:

I have made rail to bridge the old way, but not bridge to rail.

As Jester has pointed out there are no cvars related to cl_maxpackets. You can however tweak a little if the default settings are causing problems:

Nah, you cant do the bridge to rail the old way without starting way back past the rl. It's not a bad thing. The new way seems ok, if not a little bit harder.

1 and 6 would be a good thing for qmax to do.

6 for sure for those who use zoom, I cant think of any place its useful to zoom though, maybe the new ctf map or that abortion that is the tourney6 ctf remake.

I dont really mind the ghost items, its obvious they are not their.
