Most memory being used at any time without bf2 - 50mb
I know that I should have around 1.5+ gigs of Ram for Bf2, but my problem is a little strange. Ever since I had the demo, its worked perfactly. Like, I can run it on Medium 2x AA with NO lag ever, or on high 2aa with occasional ignorable jidders. The actual game however, runs like crap. Right when I first join the game, theres no lag and nothing is wrong. Works great. But maybe after 5 minutes into the game, the fps will drop to like 3 and it won't be playable. This usually happens when I look into a certain direction, but even if there is no action, it still happens, and it wouldn't have happened 4-5 minutes ago anyway. Sometimes, the game will just crash. Like, there will be no errors, and my desktop will pop up randomly.
This is the first time I saw my card reach 64 degrees C. It usually runs at 60-62. I hope thats normal by the way.
Any help would be super.
Oh yeah, for some really strange reason, my monitor might even turn off (when I'm playing bf2 only). Its like the blue light will turn that nasty yellow color. Its like the monitor is no longer plugged into my tower, because I can't seem to get it back to the blue light. Then I have to restart.
Quick bf2 question

I'm betting it's the texture size. Not the crashing, but the other issues.
The demo needs to be smaller, so they often use lower resolution and therefore smaller textures. With larger textures, you need more memory and get worse framerates.
So I'd suggest dropping the texture quality down, especially since you have a 128MB card.
I never noticed the hitches a lot of people do when I had my 9800 Pro, because I played with lower settings that my setup could actually handle. And by the time I got this 7800GT, I had 2GB RAM.
