Quake 4 Demo Problem

Me and My brother play quake 4 all the time on LAN and i make the server and whenever I want to record a demo it doesnt let me. I type in "recordnetdemo" and it says " Warning: Only client side network demo recording is supported "

Is there a way I can get it to allow me to recordnetdemo?

I have also tried using recorddemo.. that works for me but when I play the demo back it runs in SUPER SUPER SUPER slow motion! if someone could tell me how to fix that I could use that instead.

Thats my problem any help is greatly appreciated thank u!!!!!!

Unfortunately, at present, you can not record netdemos on a listen server if you are the server. Only client-side netdemo recording works currently.

There is a workaround for this.

DarkangelUK says how to do this (it's the 7th post in the thread).

(you don't need to install the little mod, it works without as well).

Create a shortcut to q4ded.exe. Run it, and in the console type si_pure 0, si_map mapname (mp/mapname if its a stock map) and then spawnserver. Load Q4 and in console type connect 127.0.0.1 and viola! Your own server to trick on and record netdemos.

[edit] ....not sure if it works for LAN though... I can't check either.
