I meant that it would be up and running in two days or less, but by no means final. That is with little graphic content and not all the features that we wish to implement before finality. That would, however, most likely include the approval system, with full file specs for each download including author comments, possibly a user comment system as well. Alot of this would also be used to create the user accounts system, as it would be idealy fused with that of q4w. We basically want to get the site running first then add graphics later, and make it pretty. It would still be just as easy to use in these first few days, just appear low budget. I don't think that really is an issue anyway, because I don't think that it is necessary for us to shell out a file repository in two days, or to have the site go public before the final, or at least close to final version is completed. I mean, who would have a problem waiting a couple of weeks for a great website?

This must be the worst way to communicate, in a public forum :)

In UT there was a server that simply allowed anyone to upload a file to the web server so long as it had a different name than an existing file. Combined with UT's web redirect it worked great. Was just a simple form with a file upload function, would take 5 minutes to write.

There is a mod that has functional autodownload, called [url=http://www.badabum.net/index.php?option=com_mambowiki&page=BadaUnlagged&page_heading=Mambo%20Wiki&show_pageheading=0&allowanonymoususers=0[/url]. It doesn't have unlagged (hitscan) netcode yet afaik, but it has railjumps, gauntlet jumps :) , homing missiles and other stuff.

Very handy if it works well, don't suppose its possible to make the autodownload part of it serverside only or something so other mods (or no mods) could use that feature?

Contact badabum (the author). ;) I'm sure the next releas of XBM will have autodownload, since the site admin of badabum.net is regurge who works with the XBM team (PR stuff).

The temp site is up by the way at quake4files.com. We are still waiting for some stuff to go final and lots of stuff is not done yet. IE: graphix, screenshot code, mirrors code and lots of other stuff. More user friendliness all around, you know.

Oh, and we would like it if you would upload some files for testing. ATM it only accepts empty feedback. You can put any feedback or problems you had in the description of the file, or in this thread. Thanks.

well, if i had no life like you I'd be able to spend all day on it. Ok, no more comments from me on this because you are not worth the time. Carry on.

We are temporarily only accepting files under 200 bytes. Once the site is officially launched the filesize limit will of course be changed. For now, if you want to try it out, either zip and empty txt file or download one of the files already uploaded.

Sorry about that, right now the site is set up to only recieve files with the mime type "application/zip". Yes this will be changed, probably right now, but until then you can always download the file I already have uploaded on there and re-upload it with your own title and description etc.. It would be nice if I could get a bunch of people to go spam some files on there just for testing purposes; work out any bugs in advance. Also, there is still a lot of developement to do here, this is only a functional framework for the actual site. That being said, there is a good chance that when the site actually launches many of it's functions will be greatly changed.
