narnia - 2/10
the first 3 or 4 minutes were great. pulling your heart strings about the blitz and how it affected families at the time. then it turned to arsewater and stayed that way for what felt like an eternity.
the missus wanted to see it because she read the book as a nipper and watched the cartoon series. promised me that it wasn't going to be anywhere near as sickly as i thought.
we were talking in the car on the way back and it turns out she's never seen either of the texas chainsaw massacre movies, so we're about to watch the original. doesn't normally watch horror films, but i've told her this one is pretty mild so it's okay.

A lot of people would say it's a bad idea, on your first day out of prison, to go right back to stalking the tranny hooker that knocked out five of your teeth. But that's how I roll..

I recently saw Alien Apocalypse, which is a made-for-TV sci-fi "action" film starring Bruce Campbell and Renee O'Connor, who previously worked together and alongside the composer, Joseph LoDuca, in the Hercules and Xena television series.
I can't really give it a rating because it is either one of the worst movies ever filmed or one of the most hilarious. If the idea of four astronauts returning to earth after 40 years of cryogenic sleep to find the planet subjugated by wood-plundering insect aliens who are easily dispatched with bows & arrows bothers you, this is probably not a movie you will like. Plotwise, it is essentially a B-movie hybrid of Battlefield Earth and [the non-awesome aspects of] Army of Darkness.
But Bruce Campbell almost redeems the whole thing with the line "Your stupidity is terminal. Now you're cured." as he kills someone.

Everyone always asks that if you give it a bad rating. For some reason peopld hold this movie on a pedastool and if someone knocks it they think it's because they don't understand it. It's an over-rated (mostly from raving 16 years olds looking for any substance and meaning to an empty life), unentertaining, angst filled piece of shit.BlueGene wrote:Really? Did you understand it? That's not true, I saw the movie with a group of people aged 20+ and they all liked it. I think the concept is really interesting. But yeah I understand people have different opinions, I was just wondering what part of it people disliked or if the person even understood the whole concept.ctrlnuke wrote:Everyone always asks that if you give it a bad rating. I personally didn't like some movies by David Lynch until I watched them over quite recently.
