fuckin chunk.

i would say its his router. pick your voice software, google its ports and enter them into the port forwarding section on his router.

See if he's got a DMZ on his router, and put his machine into it.

It means no port forwarding.. but make sure he's running a software firewall like Kerio or Zonealarm (should be already, right?).

Hopefully that'll help.

Enable UPnP so the software can open the ports on the router (if the software if UPnP aware). Otherwise just look up the ports and forward them.
