Reaper Bots made by Stephen Polge (early q1 bots.. Reaper is regarded as father of all bots.. but now reapers fail in comparision with the newer Frogbot or even Omicron bots, however they have large sentimental value to quakers)
Omicron Bots made by Mr. Elusive (Quake1 bots.. prolly the best q1 bots after Frogbots)
Frogbots made by Robert 'Frog' Field and improved later by many, many people. these bots are the best q1 bots because they are based on a waypoint system to properly navigate maps. this inspired Mr. Elusive to do the AAS for Gladiator bots, the very same system that will end up also in Q3 (modified of course).
Gladiator Bots also by Mr. Elusive (best quake2 bots. (period) )
Quake3 Bots also by Mr. Elusive.

IIRC Stephen Polge wrote AI code for Unreal series. Although I don't like UT I think the game has the best bots ever seen in FPP shooters. Only CPMA and Spiter bots can compete, but rather because of their movement abilities than "big IQ".

UT bots even on godlike are so predictable thier movement is really bad cpma bots are leaps and bounds above them I could use link gun only against ut bots and win every time :-/ they rarely dodge jump they run straight lines if you are in thier view the only thing they accel in compared to any bots I've played against are prediction shots but thats because it seems they learn your movement pattern. if you make erratic movement they miss alot they also dont use weapon switch as they should they often attempt to kill you with rockets when they should pull out the lightning gun(sniper/rail) or shock rifle. They do have good tracking aim with link gun and exceptional flak skills up close due to them seeming to know where the flak pattern will go (its pretty random when you try it,seems your movement affects it as well,at times anyways)Lukin wrote:IIRC Stephen Polge wrote AI code for Unreal series.
