I'm gonna wait until next week, apparently its rumored that Apple may have a 42" and 50" option in the works, and the Macworld expo kicks off tomorrow. Steve Jobs will give his Keynote on Tuesday.

Still, that's a killer price.

don't you need a video card upgrade for something like that?

I think a Geforce 6800 or equivalent will be sufficient. On the site they mention:
The Dell™ 3007WFP requires a DVI-D dual-link graphic card that supports WQXGA (2560x1600) resolution.

That's interesting. It's essentially two 15" monitors with the middle casing removed but they want $2200...

you have a 15" monitor that will do 1280 x 1600?

my only complaint would be games that don't run at this resolution (some rts's, a few puzzle games)
Why not?

Jenny: lol, i'm not changing the whole harddrive directory structure for a mod. Do it proper like other mods please.

Seriously though, there's no way I would spend that much on a monitor.

Would you spend that much on a tv and think twice about it?

It will be quite a few years before I'm making enough money to think $2200 for a monitor or $10,000 for a TV isn't a lot of money.

Oh come on...you'd love it and the worry on the expense will fade over time. Once its all gone, you'll be set to buy another one!

Because 2000 for a TV is not top of the line. 2000 for a monitor is. I'd be willing to drop 2000 on a big screen TV because you really can't get one for much less that's worth a damn. But with a monitor, there are options well under 2000 that are still nice. Hell I only paid a few hundred for this CRT on ebay and aside from being 19" it's got excellent image quality and great refresh rates.

My 19" crt is ok, but its got issues with clarity and color. Its fine for now but sooner or later I'll need to upgrade.

That seems insanely high. I didn't play at all on saturday or sunday morning because I met up with some friends at a bar.
