In all honesty, no. I never recall getting bored with Doom/Doom 2. D3 bored me to tears.

In all honesty, no. I never recall getting bored with Doom/Doom 2. D3 bored me to tears.

D1/D2 might not of bored you as it was probably something new at the time. But regardless, the engine is amazing and hopefully produces some good mods (this is providing the mod community gets some actual talent instead of kids saying they are going to create the bestest mod ever over and over).

I won't dispute for a second the fact that D3's engine is a technological marvel, the game itself was completely underwhelming.
And, thinking back, Doom wasn't new conceptually. I'd played Wolf3D, so I'd have to say that the gameplay was just that much more entertaining. I liked D3 at first, Doom rehash or not. It just got boring really quickly.
