Goooo STEELERS!!!
It's the week after, first Sunday of February. It's something they just changed after 9/11 (it was pushed back obviously but for some reason they kept it afterwards), it used to be the last Sunday of January. Which sucks because my birthday is next week, so I'd be able to get fucked up for free and watch the superbowl. Fucking terrorists.bitWISE wrote:Is that next weekend or the weekend after? I've stopped caring about pro football but I may have to hit up a bar for the super bowl.Canis wrote:STEELERS ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!! AWWW YEAH!!!

not worth predicting one way or the other. any team could have a good or bad day.

they may win it, but armchair quarterbacking and rambling about who is going to win at this point is just ridiculous...any team can have an off day and any team can have an on day. we can talk odds, but that's about it.
Seattle could have ran the table against nothing but AFC teams and people that don't like them would still ramble on about the same stuff.
And every AFC team Pitt played wasn't 'better' than seattle - how are you defining 'better.'?

armchair qb'ing is fine. But these armchair qb's who run around saying "THIS WILL HAPPEN" are tiring...ctrlnuke wrote:lol, do football fans do anything but armchair quarterbacking between championships and superbowl?
Give me statistics and odds..matchups, etc., that you think will be exploited to give a team the win...not STEELERS WILL WIN...
Since when are these threads based upon anything more than opinions? This isn't a scientific argument here. I'm just saying Seahawks didn't impress me too much TBH. Redskins only had a good D, once they were able to penetrate it and get a lead Readskins didn't have an offense to get the points back. All the Seahawks had to do against Carolina was shut down Smith...which they did. They did both of these things, but both teams had a predictable game plan as they (Redskins + Panthers) are one dimensional teams.tnf wrote:And every AFC team Pitt played wasn't 'better' than seattle - how are you defining 'better.'?
Steelers on the other hand can effectively come out throwing (which they did in the last 2 games and it worked) or running the ball to start on offense. On defense they have an effective agressive blitz but also a good enough D line where they can play it safer with the line backers.
If it could be played, I'd take the Bengals, Broncos, Colts, Steelers, all over the Seahawks.
Christ, you're missing the point...opinions are fine. Everything's a fucking opinion. I'd just rather read an opinion that is backed up by some observation and that can be discussed and or debated rather than STEELERS ARE GOING TO BEAT THE SEA CHICKENS! I LIKE THE FOOTBALL! My point is that I'd rather hear someone's opinion when they've taken the time to point out how or why they came to that opinion. I have to deal with this crap all day long in my line of work. "Man the Steelers suck!" "Oh, really? Why?" "Man, they just...they suck man...they just do."ctrlnuke wrote:Since when are these threads based upon anything more than opinions? "Man, evolution is all a bunch of crap." "Oh, really? Please explain." "Man..its just...crap man...we didn't come from no apes man..."
I place that blind "GO TEAM" cheerleading stuff in that category of opinion.
Good teams are able to overcome adversity. Seattle overcame adversity when they beat Washington and their defense without Alexander. Carolina was missing the crux of its running game, no doubt, but their defense was still predominantly intact, and was systematically picked apart.
Smith was shut down. Great. So where were the other receivers? Carolina was touted as some tough as nails road warrior team...they weren't. Like you mentioned, Caroline looked very one-dimensional. Seattle's offense is far from one-dimensional. I think they will stack up fine offensively. But if Pittsburg is playing well, seattle's defense will need to put together their best outing of the year.
