help my mx700 mouse buttons are fucking up

Post by Tsakali_ »

k so the actual movement of the mouse is fine but when I use the left button in games and for that matter anywhre else it skips beats/commands, as if it missfires, for instance when I am shooting with a minigun it will shoot pause and start shooting soon after.

I dunno what the problem could be. Is my mouse ready for trashing or can I salvage it?

is there any well known solvable issues with these mice?

like can I clean the reciever/mouse controlers or something?

or is thje actual left button trashed?

HOw old is it.. its possible the button itself inside is wearing out.. my first one did that..

If all else fails, you can TRY moving the charger closer to the mouse..
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

I've got about 19 months use out of it, and yes I am trying to avoid the obvious answer, but it seems it must be a simple wareout...ohh well

the receiver's possition makes no difference I've tried different variations. I just opened it up to see if anything makes sense .

my first impression is that this mouse if very well build I was socked.

well I was hoping for a simple and visual mechanical wear, you know in hope that I could rig something up, but other than that, those little boxes which have the actual button contact look very proprietary to me, so finding something and trying to replace it doesn't seem ,like a viable solution.

The problem is that I really dig this mouse, and I am really turned off to the idea of going out there and buing one of the new garbage they call an mx700 replacement

I had a similar problem with my mx700 a month or two after I bought it. I found moving the receiver up off the desk about 3 inches (balanced on top of a roll of duct tape) and having the receiver infront of the keyboard solved the problem.

Give it a go.

Same as above I belive, the receiver gets the "left button click on" message, but then doesnt get the "left button click release" message. Change where the receiver is in relation to the mouse.

Does it occur on just one app or all apps?

The issue is that you both bought the shittiest mice available on the market..real men like me use superior hardware.

The mx700 I use on my older computer does the same thing. Except it happens to the right click instead of the left. I was a tad surprised it died on me so early. It only went through 1 pair of rechargable batteries, and I was hoping for like 2 or 3. Some of my cheap $8 corded opticals lasted longer, so thats why I'm a bit surprised. The right click barley works anymore, and I have to press really hard like 3 times to get it to work. So, now I cant use the other computer for playing small games on a Lan (that require right click at least). The buttons are also like dark brownish black on the spots my fingers were all the time, and the little plastic pads (4 I think?) came off a LONG time ago.

Yeah, mines doing this because its old, and I think you may need to get a new mouse.

Update the mouseware drivers and try to duplicate the problem in another game or two.
