How do I play my friends?

Ok today me and some friends downloaded the demo version is school and where playing during class and we wanted to play againt each other after school from our home computers. Is it possible to connect with them?

What's the advantage of running a dedicated server vs. Just hosting a game? I've never run a ded. server.

Dedicated server gives you proper physics. The 125fps jumps and all that. Otherwise, you have to shift your cap from 125 to 142 or something.

On top of that: if you record a demo on your own listen server, it will play back at 20 FPS (assuming you use sv_fps 20). Unless you set sv_fps to 125.

well, for the sake of watching demos you probably only need sv_fps 60 or 80. easier to run a dedicated.
