astronomy - new cute CPMA 1v1 beta

Post by voodoochopstiks »

http://www.chimpans.se/astronomy/ for screens and download.

It's in late beta now I think, I just want to make sure everything is up to par before release, I want all your crits and comments! It's for CPMA, so if you want to discuss gameplay, please don't bring up VQ3-specific problems.

Thanks, looking forward to feedback :D

edit: updated the map, now includes one less shotgun, one less green armor, and also I moved the one remaining shotgun up next to the 50hp ball. Also works with bots now.

Nice map and for the record folks, though he doesn't want to hear it, I think it plays well in VQ3 as well.

ok couple of quick things.

1) Possibly consider moving the exit from the Teleporter by the PG to next to the LG/ GL ammo boxes facing up the stairs on the upper level instead of to the SG overlooking the RA.

2) Possibly consider moving the GL up by the GA (not the one next to the LG).

3) I can't help thinking another spawn point is required. Maybe on the green health ledge or on the 2x 25 health ledge.

4) It seems a little dark when I'm not in my norm vertex mode. (I always like to ramp up all the settings when viewing a new map).

5) Small thing. Consider making that exit ledge to the teleporter by the RL a tad bigger so the jump to the upper level is a little easier, thus improving game enjoyment.

Hope this helps. (They are just my opinions, I won't be offended if you ignore any or all of them).

Fora.

Thanks for testing.

1: I think this would lead to very easy armor control, and an easy run back and forth between the yellow and red armor. So sorry, nope.
2: Hmm, I quite like it's position now, handy for spamming the RA, but I'll give it some thought.
3: Alright, will pass this suggestion around among people and see how they feel.
4: Hmm, doesn't feel too dark for me, if it's an issue for many people I'll make it a bit brighter.
5: You can doublejump out of teleporters in CPM, so that jump is really easy when not in vq3. Perhaps I'll change it if I can be bothered to ever make a vq3 version :D

re: thanks for testing ... always a pleasure, and thanks for taking the time to reply to my feedback.... I wish you success with the map and I look forward to the release. [Don't bother doing a seperate version for Q3 .. this one is good enough ;)]
