Password strength isgenerally associated with how easy it is to crack. A strong password will take a fairly long time to decypher. Try changing your password so that it has numbers letters and symbols, preferably more than 8 characters long.
Yea, SA is the account that has complete control over every database running on the server. They make sure it's strong. I'd go with 10-12 characters, with numbers, letters and just a couple of symbols.
I think its fucking gay that I have to change my password because MS says so. I might understand if I were actually running a server but the fact that this is MY account on MY home PC...fucking gay.
You shouldn't have to change any accounts, just the password for the SA account. What is it telling you to do exactly, is this still during the install?
when i need to do strong passwords, i normally choose a keyboard pattern. for example: 1q2w3e4R%t - that one zig-zags. makes it easier to remember, for me.

i do the same thing, although a little more complex than a zig zag from one key to the next.
You can install it with a blank sa password using the following command line parameter: "BLANKSAPWD=1". Of course, this poses a security threat if the database instance is used in Mixed mode .. I'd stick with Windows Authentication mode in any case.

It probably wants a certain encryption. I use KeyPass when I want to create a random password.
You can use the mouse in a box to create a random password.
