Pretty fucking awesome. Yeah it's had it's lengths, but the first half especially was a visual orgasm.

Just a very good movie. I didn't like some of the actors before this movie, but they had perfect parts and made the movie as great as it is. Very good story. Very engaging.
Also, sometimes the camerawork in the mood scenes gave me the same feeling as it did in Collateral.
A must see!

Ok, I've been watching the Battlestar Galactica miniseries and season one during the past week, and all I can say is that it's damn great. My girlfriend got even more into it than I did, and she was the one wanting to see "just one more episode, please" every time we watched.
I really like how the entire season played like a coherent miniseries, and didn't diverge into separate, stand-alone episodes at all. The main story arc was always in main focus, which made it much more appealing to me than, say, Babylon 5 or Firefly.
I can't wait until I can get my hands on season 2, and I read somewhere that season 3 has been greenlighted, and is sceduled for autumn 2006. Great stuff.

Does the Miniseries have anything to do with the show? Where does it fit in, chronologically?
the miniseries really constitutes the first (3hr) episode. It is essential viewing if you're going to stick with the series. You can buy/rent it on its own, otherwise it is included in the Season 1 DVD set.
Haven't seen it yet. I saw Serenity....decent, but I'll need to watch it again to really evaluate it. I'm not quite sure what to make of Whedon's writing style. His penchant for sharp, snappy dialogue is hit or miss with me. Sometimes it feels right; other times it just seems like teeny-bopper veneer. After I've actually seen firefly, I'll give ya a shout out.

Note that the miniseries is only included in the US season 1 set, not the EU one. In the EU, the miniseries is sold separately.

This has got UBER NERD written all over it. The 'sex scenes', on a relatively tame primetime TV show. Shown from a slightly better angle...plus a different theme song. Wow, I feel seriously taken advantage of.
