New Firefox-based Netscape 8 beta

Supposedly it supports rendering through both the Mozilla Gecko and Internet Explorer engines. I haven't seen anything that would point towards choosing between the two engines though.

What I have noticed is that the browser looks horribly ugly

Netscape owned up until 4.0 was released. Then it turned to shit. It apparantly still is shit.

That's fucking horrid. I imagine a fat Yank stuffing fries into her maw while running all her CCs up to the limit shopping using a browser like that.
