TV series, recommendations?

Post by BlueGene »

So I’m looking for something to watch, already planning to buy the rest of 24. But I’m looking for more shows.

Some of my favorite shows are:
Lost
Prison Break
Veronica Mars (Surprisingly a good show)
24 (Only watched 1st season so far)

I’ve heard that Battlestar Galactica is good? I’ve never really watched any science-fiction space series before, not sure if I will like it or if it’s good. Should I pickup the first season on DVD? I think it’s like $50. How many seasons are there?

Any other shows good shows? Something available on DVD?

House
The Sopranos
The O.C.
Dead Like Me
CSI: Las Vegas
Seinfeld
Family Guy
American Dad
The Simpsons
Arrested Development
That 70s Show (only seasons 1-7)

those are the ones I can remember right now, I'll add more later.

not a big fan of telly, but got really into battlestar galactica. it stands up as a drama well enough even if you're not into sci-fi. plenty of cliffhangers and character development. there's a blonde lass in it that's very watchable.

it starts off with a mini-series/extended episode thing that made it very confusing on tv (sky overlapped the mini-series and the start of the series proper). maybe being able to watch one episode right after the other sorts that out.

someone else can advise you on the best version to get if you're interested, apparently there are a couple of flavours of it.

I'll throw in a second vote for House. What an excellent show.

you want this one.

if you're in the mood for something a bit more challenging, try Twin Peaks.

24 gets better with every season, so keep watching it!

Also, I like House, the Sopranos, and Clone High. And I've heard good things about Alias, but I've never seen it and I don't know if it's on any more.

Yeah I used to watch The Sopranos, up to season 3 or so. A bit tired of it. Twin Peaks isn't really my thing, I've watched season 1 and a bit of two.

Other shows I've watched or still watch occasionally:

Family Guy
American Dad (Don't watch it anymore)
Simpsons
Seinfeld
Futurama
South Park
That 70s Show (It's boring now, new characters suck)
Mythbusters
Kenny vs Spenny
(Local Toronto show, it's hilarious and sometimes disgusting, 2 guys compete doing stupid crap) More info here -> http://www.kennyvsspenny.tv/competitions.asp
My Name is Earl
Everybody Hates Chris
Malcolm in the Middle
Everwood (Don't watch it anymore)
Smallville (Don't watch it anymore)
Gilmore Girls (Don't watch it anymore)
The X-Files

All the WB shows cause my gf likes to watch them.

Yeah the first season was good; I plan to watch it for a while. But it will probably take me half a year to catch up. I noticed there are a lot of slip ups in Season 1, like you see the camera men a few times, shadows, etc.

Nip/ Tuck is fuckin brilliant, but the cunts stopped airing here all of a sudden.
Im gonna import the dvd seasons of ebay come to think of it.

currently i watch 'Grace Anatomy' and always liked Will & Grace, Gilmore Girls and E.R. :D
I dont watch much tv and follow nothing, especially since my big one broke down, but I tend to watch shows I dont have to sit around week after week for to get what it's about, which is why I fckn h8 Lost with a passion
