120Hz Refresh Rate
120Hz Refresh Rate
Anyone know of an affordable monitor that can push high-resolution high-refresh rates?
I'm on an LCD at the moment and as good as it is for games, nothing beats running quake 3 at 120Hz refresh rate. Nothing.
I guess I'm looking at finding a second hand high-end graphics monitor, maybe an SGI jobbie with a convertor or and old mac screen.
Most monitors I can find only push up to 85hz at 1024 or such, do you know of any that can push 120Hz at 800*600 or 1024*768?

If you don't already, get that running in quake 3 with picmip 5 and the whole works and watch your accuracies skyrocket.riddla wrote:My Nokia 445 Pro 21" does 120hz @ 1024. Probably the main reason I've yet to go LCD on my gaming rig.
Having mouse sampling, FPS and refresh all around the 120Hz mark is very slick.

The only tweak i use is r_intensity 1.65 and r_overbrightbits 0 to make the shadows less deep.
I still wish that vsync could be used in Q3/Q4 without the mouse lags; i played with 100 Hz 100 FPS which is _ULTRA_ smooth, but flick shots are just really bad because of the lags/sensitivity drops. The LG Flatron F900P is a great screen (awesomely vivid colours) and does 1024@130 Hz, 1280@95 Hz. I have my F700P at 1152@100Hz, at 1024 it's just below 120 Hz. 150 Hz at 800x600...
