That's something I need to get checked (bodyfat), haven't had that done in a long time. I'm not a bodybuilder or powerlifter but kinda follow both(routine)when working out. I'm not ripped or over weight but I could stand to lose a little around the mid section. I take lifting serious but not serious enough to follow a very strict diet. Hats off to those that can. Eating is something I love to do just as much, if not more, as lifting. :icon25:

hah i wish i had your "problem". My metabolism is kinda high, so i need to eat about 4500 calories a day to gain weight (at least when i'm in the latter phases of bulking).

I'd give anything to be able to only eat 2500-3000 cals to get the same anabolic benefits.

anyway, this cycle's been great - haven't missed a single meal or gym day since i started in January. Been putting on 2 pounds a week since.

I believe your supposed to eat 1.5 lbs. of protein per pound of bodyweight. I believe that's right. In order to gain muscle. When I was younger I could eat anything I wanted to and I wouldn't gain anything. Now, being a little older (34), I have to watch what I take in. Try heavy squats to help slow the metabolism down a bit. Just a suggestion if you haven't tried that already.

well the 1.5 grams of proten per pound is just a general rule of thumb. Probably differs from individual to individual. That said, I eat about 300 grams a day.

I do squats - can't go too heavy coz of my bodytype and still retain good form. never gone past 200 yet. Stiff legged deads on the other hand i have no issue with.

anyway i'm not looking to bulk up much more. I'm pretty happy with the 45 pounds i've gained so far, and it'd be nice to eventually get to 170 pounds with under 8 percent bf.

Especially in that pic where you are trying to stick your chest way out and squish your bicep to make it look bigger.

19-25% bmi is actually healthy for a guy.
15-18% is lean
10-14% is athletic
<9% is like, the beastily ripped guys
<5% is also rather common
Why not?

A lot of these methods (except for hyrdostatic weighting) are based on formulas that are very very generalized. Basicly, if you work out at all, you will have a "fat" BMI.
He didn't test my body fat at all. 16% is what my new scale says. He just asked for my height and weight. (I know, retarded.)
tnf wrote:what 'muscle enzymes' is he talking about?
I have no idea. He said something about stuff that is created when muscle cells are strained or something.

Maybe Geebs can help, as it's obviously something doctors routinely test for.

Well, anyway, I went to my parents's house today and picked up my bike. I have a couple more weeks until Uni starts, so I guess I'll be getting some exercise till then.

Was he talking about creatinine? (not creatine)

I'm just flexing my bicep. It becomes so hard that I can't move it with my thumb even if I tried.
