ok, this this wat happens... I start up the installation for quake 3 team arena and it gets to about 79% complete and i get an error message which reads: -
"An error occured durin the move data process: -117
Component: Mission pack files
File group:
File: D:\setup/missionpack/pak0.pk3"
Can anyone help me please?

Perhaps the CD is dirty, try cleaning it. Otherwise I would try exploring the CD and just copying the CD's contents to your hardrrive.

and if that doesn't work, "extract" the cd using isobuster and maybe create a new image and mount that with daemon tools
or you can simply copy the missionpack folder to your quake3 folder. ta, done

erm slight problem again i try to copy over the files manually but it says "Cannot copy pak0: data error (cyclic redundancy check)."
help plz

You don't need to extract anything or use a drive mount. Simply copy the source files from the CD to a folder and then run setup from there.

If cleaning the CD doesn't work, your CD or drive is a bit screwed.
pak0.pk3 is the biggest file on the disc, too. I expect you would be able to get a replacement disc from Activision for a nominal fee if this is the case.

well my Cd is absolutley fine no scrathes or nuthina dn my computer is brand new so cleaniness aint the prob

K. That's the only advice I have for you sadly
'Cyclic Redundancy Check' is the classic 'I can't read the CD' message from your PC. At which point, it's not really a Q3-specific issue, you'll probably need to persue a replacement CD or some issue with the drive.
