Wireless Choice
Well when my spring break rolls around I intend to reinstall Windows. Currently I have two networking devices, both wireless, both on the same router. My first, which I have used for a long time, is a USB adapter from Microsoft, MN-510. My second choice, which I use for Linux, is a Linksys WGA11B which is ethernet connected. Would there be any advantages or disadvantages to either that any of you know of? The encryption is 64-bit WEP.

all i need is the AP's, a client ( that has to be active, this is what gets me by the Mac addy filtering ), and two computers on my side.
the fastest that i have been able to do it is 8 mins on 64-bit wep, and 17mins on 128wep..
its actually shocking how quick and easly it can be done.
WPA hasent been had yet, all there is are Brute force attacks ( that takes a wile... a Reallly long wile )

check you router manufacturer's website for updated firmware. chances are, it'll support WPA after the upgrade. read the changelog.Kills On Site wrote:Router does not support WPA, it came out before WPA. It doesn't really matter as I don't live near a public road, and there are college students with SSIDs of linksys and netgear right beside the mall, much easier targets then I.
