I have a problem finding jeans that fit

K I need a pair of jeans, and have spent literally hours at the local outlets without luck.

The problem is that my waist is small but my legs are thick, so when i get a pair that fits my waist, i can't fit into them. And when I get a pair that fits my legs, they're way too big on the waist.

Does anyone know of any jean brands, or styles that I could look for? I want to be more prepared before going to a store this time.

Also bonus if you can tell me places in toronto where i might find em.

No - i don't mind a belt to make fix things that almost fit. Problem is, the jeans which fit my legs have waist sizes so big that belts will just scrunch up the entire fabric on my waist.

eat a lot of pies to make your waist bigger ?

gotta stop the legs from growing tho....

for this i advise 2 elastic bands to place at the top of each leg and stop any food flow

Depends entirely on the jean cut you look for. Your best bed would be to try and find a fashion store in town where they actually know what they're talking about, and enquire as to which cut would fit you correctly.

i would say try the a big and tall store, but you're a shortass from what i can remember and you really aint that big :l try custom design, might cost alot more, but you will have a nice pair of jeans.

just seriously... get a pair of jeans that fits your thighs, then go and get them tailored. It is not that hard and would probably be easier than finding the 'perfect pair'

wouldn't know how to begin - my waist is proly 33 or so. (it may be 31 or 34 i have no clue how to properly measure it)

k i might end up doing that as a last resort. I guess for now i'll just try to find diff stores and hopefully find a savvy assistant.

no, it is your first resort. go get a pair of jeans. find a dang tuxedo store or something, and ask them if they can tailer the waist to you

Look for loose leg fit or a relaxed fit in your normal waist size (Levi's, Old Navy, Banana Republic, whatever clothing store you've got near you). They are cut wider in the legs and crotch while keeping the same wasit size. Should make things better.

And consider finding non-obvious womens jeans in your size/height. I've known some guys who wear them simply because they all around fit better than the average pair of guys pants.

Shop online too.

i think the guys you know are fags, unless they are unisex jeans... anyway my suggestion still stands, if you really are having this problem then get them tailor made.

Try a style called bootleg, if that dont work, you need ek's advice - or stick with happy pants, remember them?

Not a jeans man myself, nub question, but how much longer do they last when compared to conventional cotton pants? Does the extra weight of the fabric become noticeable when walking or sprinting? Does one ever adjust to this weight increase?

I have the same problem Jules, so I usually have to buy them slightly baggy. Plenty of jeans makers produce versions like that so you don't have to buy fatboy sizes.

ofcourse you adjust to it, the question is to you want to?

you'll see a great difference once you switch back to lighter fabrics for whatever occasion. not to mention they tempt to shrink when washed the first time so be aware when you purchase them. The fibers also relax after a few days without washing, but they will shrink again after a wash and it is very noticeable. On the other hand, jeans cat take a good beating and they wont lose their composure unless they are cheap.
