Um, cause it's a mac and runs mac OS as well?werldhed wrote:So does it run Windows just like a PC?
If so, what gives it an advantage over just using a PC, other than the "look how hip I am with my Mac" effect?
It's simply a 2-for-1 advantage.

I guess, but if you don't use OS in the first place, then it shouldn't matter, since you'd have to deal with having a Mac system (which I personally would consider a disadvantage).Foo wrote:Um, cause it's a mac and runs mac OS as well?werldhed wrote:So does it run Windows just like a PC?

btw, i like this idea, because my lab requires use of Macs. Maybe now I won't have to spend all day being frustrated. :icon26:
they released it because there were request for it
is it so friggin hard to see that people may require certain software that is limited to say Windows and prefer a Mac to use at home?
and if its not so friggin hard to see this, is it friggin hard to understand this implies you wont have to buy 2 computers for use at home?
common ffs, its so obvious to see why this is usefull

that's what I thought was obvious yes...

I didn't say some people wouldn't find it useful. In fact, I stated myself that I have a use for it myself when I'm at school.
I just don't see why people think this is a reason to buy a Mac.
If you like PCs, you don't have any real advantage to buying a new Mac.
And if you like Macs but need a PC to do work, and you can't afford two systems...well...buying a new Mac would be buying 2 systems, wouldn't it?
Yes it's a nice feature. No, it won't make me buy a Mac. That's all.

The really interesting part it, there's potential for virtualisation in the next version of OS X - get PC apps to run as if native OS X apps
You know, like WINE only not shit.
