G5 mouse = Broken?

My G5 mouse arrived the morning after I ordered it, which made me happy. What's making me sad is that it seems to be broken or something. Often times when I click down, the button gets locked, and I just keep firing whatever, so essentially my zoom/walk/fire buttons keep getting toggled at precisely the wrong times.


Did anyone else get these problems with their G5s?

I had the same thing happen with my mx518. When I first got it while playing q3 the shoot (mouse1) button would get stuck and it would auto-shoot. I would tap it a few times and it would go back to normal. It didn't get stuck that often though. A few months later or so it stopped to happen, so my guess is I weared the button in and maybe some kinda padding on the button that was causing the slight obstructions before was now fine.

I'd say if you don't want to wait a while and see if you can get it weared in have it replaced. Who knows, yours might be more 'stiff' than mine was.

I had the same thing happen with mine when it was new. I don't know if it stops, cause I got logitech to send me a new one that I sold afterwards and gave the old one to my mom, it works fine for her.

i think this is more of a q3a bug then anything..

i've had it happen with all kinds of mice with q3a, then rockets would be just firing without me pressing a button..
