A question for Atheists

I never said that. An agnostic does not put faith into anything, he keeps an open mind.

I'm saying a self proclaimed agnostic such as yourself, who has doubts in a hypothetical situation you described is more of a christian than an agnostic.

edit 1 Ryoki, huge debate there about belief, and what constitutes belief. Does a tiny bit really situate someone in a faith? I dont think so, according to Christian doctrine, satan believes in the existance of God, your definition would leave satan in the unfomfortable position of being a christian...

ps enjoy ur coffee

edit2 I cant type tonight that toook ages

I said perhaps I am a weak Atheist, somewhere between an Atheist and an Agnostic or an Agnostic. One thing I certainly am not is a Christian. An Atheist is someone who, while not believing there is a God, keeps an open mind - therefore entertains the possibility that there could perhaps be "something out there". Which is precisely the way I feel. This according to your earlier post, constitutes Christianity, and not merely making someone more of a Christian than an Agnostic as you're trying to say now.

don't worry about it. every law student has to do that when they graduate, and you'll earn the 2k back quickly enough.

I'll do my best, but most likely I'll soon forget that someone on the internet tried to predict what would happen in my life in 3 years time.

your scenario makes a lot of assumptions, such as the assumption that if there's a god, there must be a satan, and that the eschatology of various desert religions is basically correct

See, what you're too thick to grasp here is that everytime someone posts an effective counter-argument, you write it off as a troll.
I'd love to see you try that in court. :olo:

Seriously though any atheist that awnsers this question otherwise isn't an ahteist at heart. If there's any doubt in your mind as to the existance of god then obviously you're still going over some obstacles in your mind as to the nature of reality. I've seen some pretty intense shit over the last couple of weeks let me tell you but none of it has convinced me of there being a god. In fact, it's only cemented the fact that there isn't one.

But my point is, for 2000 bucks for a couple hours of idiots going on about satan owning my soul is fucking great.

It'd be like winning a battle you know? two millenia and more they've been getting our money and making us their slaves over some stupid idea and FINALY me, as an atheist I'd have the chance to laugh at the whole absurdity of it all AND THEY pay ME? Man that's wicked, that'd be worth it alone, just the fact that I got religion to give me money in the name of it's own beleifs, even if it is satanic.

The gratification I'd get from that alone would beat whatever I'd do with the money.
