Well, i've re-installed quake 4 after upgrading my comp, and i had better performance under my old system then my new one with quake 4.
Specs:
Win XP 64
Asus a8v
AMD64 X2 4200+
6800GS 256mb
2GB pc3200 dual channel ram
SB Audigy ( not using openAL )
200GB Seagate Baracuda SATA
80GB WD IDE
Anyways, even with the smp option on under the 1.2 patch, performance is shit. When I start the game, where i first exit the crashed shuttle, i don't get more then 14fps.
So far the tweaks i've done:
image_usecache 1
image_cachemeg 400
imagecachemink 2048
Poor performance, good system specs

Sorry to burst your bubble there Scarface but thats not a very good score.Even my system gets 6000+ and I've had it as high as 7000 with my cards overclocked. At one of our LAN's a guy had a 4200+ and dual 7800gtx's and was pushing 14k.

so, you have 2 vid cards which probably cost you what around 400-500? I have a SINGLE 6800gs AGP which i spent less then 300 for and score in the mid 5000. Thanks, move onTREASONIST wrote:Sorry to burst your bubble there Scarface but thats not a very good score.Even my system gets 6000+ and I've had it as high as 7000 with my cards overclocked. At one of our LAN's a guy had a 4200+ and dual 7800gtx's and was pushing 14k.
