Lost 5/10 *SPOILERS*
So, Anna Lucia's dead, "Henry" bolted, Libby dies after saying only "Michael", Sawyer was hiding the guns under his own ass, and Eko and John find a new hatch and discover that the button-pushing is indeed bullshit. Not bad, but a bit of a letdown after last week.
Anyone think they're actually going to raid The Others' camp?

So did anyone else see the hint during the commercials? Makes me wonder what else I missed while watching skipping them on fast forward with the DVR.

The "comercial" is about 54 minutes in to the show, right after a Toyota ad and a Centrum ad.

i think the whole thing is a pshychological test that got out of hand.
there are, what, 8 hatches on the island? they found a few, all abandonded save one. and that one requires a button push. so thats obviously bullshit.
i think the Pearl is part of the experiment; those instructions were so strict its not something Hanso would trust random people with.
i think the Others are also victim of the test. theyre not above the losties, nor below. they both feel they have to do what they have to do (push a button, maybe?), and maybe they think they have to do it alone. kind of a Lord of the Flies kinda deal.
i mean, theyre at war and they actually have no idea why. Desmond said the world would end if the button wasnt pushed so now the Losties are taking over that task. Who knows what happened on the Other side? maybe they got told they have to make sure they push their button before the losties do. so they try to infiltrate with Henry, making sure they never push the damn thing, or just to fuck them up.
its kinda like that monkey-tradition experiment; after a while they will do whatever their predecessors told them what to do, without knowing why. but it becomes the most important thing to uphold, even at the cost of lives.
the dharma experiment stopped a long time ago. these people are just unlucky to get in to it once again; proving that the effects of the experiment is a lot stronger than originally anticipated/intended.
im not saying everything is part of the experiment mind, i mean theres some next level shit going on there (like the smoke); but the whole hatch thing was really intended to test human nature :icon14:

They're not at war over nothing, the Others kidnapped kids and people from the Losties from the tail of the plane. However, I had the same idea about all of them being part of a bunch of experiments.MKJ wrote:i think the whole thing is a pshychological test that got out of hand.

the kidnapping of kids could be part of 'their objective'. or maybe that actually was done by the overseeing party?
i guess we'll know soon, as this seasons finale is supposed to address a lot of loose ends

Theory for next weeks episode that I have is that what they're looking at in the preview - that thing where everyone is collectively look at, thats casting the bright light - is something crashing in to the ocean, much like Oceanic flight 815 did. This will a.) introduce new characters (survivors) to us, and be show us how 815 crashed down.
Also, tonights episode was great. A few things though. In the first orientation video we saw, we met Marvin Candle:

In tonights episode we met Wickman:

Now, they're obviously the same person. Besides their names, some differences are hair colour (Candle has grey hair while Wickman has dark hair), Candle only has 1 working arm - his left arm is fake, and he does the "Namaste" thing at the end of the video with one arm and Wickman does it with two, and of course their clothing; one is a doctor, the other is casual. So I thinking that the way this person is portrayed in the video is to set a feeling to whoever views them.
Also, Marvin Candle and Wickman are both referencing candles. Don't know what to think of that.
And finally, I couldn't resist:

I'll post more once I come across it.

that candle/wickman tihng is a good find sir, havent noticed that :icon14:
the second video was also of way better quality than the first. it was also on cassette instead of on a reel. so the second was recorded later than the first (i think the year at the end of the movie confirms this, but i cant remember)
maybe he is a product of his own life extension program? (hence the arm?) :icon32:
