PSP Emulators and good stuff past v2.0

Post by Kills On Site »

Well I have been happily running a PSP with v1.5 for a while now. However with games like GTA:LCS and Splinter Cell: Essentials. (I know GTA needs v2.0 or higher, not sure on SC:E) I want to be able to continue emulating Genesis, SNES and NES games, along with FastLoader. Anyone know what and how things have changed since 1.5?

Yeah for anything upwards of 1.5, you need fanjita's eboot loader :)

But as you can notice, firmware above 2.6, most of the stuff dosen't work at all, with the exception of using a gta workaround to get homebrew to boot, but it dosen't support that much.

You can also play games like gta on 1.5 with a hack I think I've seen it posted.

But yeah, upgrade to 2.0+ if you want, and use the eboot loader, and most of the homebrew works nicely. Check out his list.

BTW, snestyl 0.4 was released last week, and it ownz. Virtually all my roms now work at full speed, awesomenage

Well I had v2.0 saved on my memory stick, but when I downloaded 2.7, just to have, it deleted the 2.0 file, now I think I have it on my orignal 32MB memory stick, but I have no clue where it is. So could anyone point me to a v2.0 firmware download?

You can get 2.6 as well, if you have gta, then you can use the exploit, but you won't be able to go back down to 1.5 if you do.

There is another great thing about 1.5, with proper 'tools' you can play many 2.0+ games (isos, or isos from your umds, you have to make them yourself). But that's probably more of a hassle than anything.
