Fun games for a LAN

Post by MaCaBr3 »

I'm gonna organize a LAN party for friends soon, now most of these my friend own a computer but are hardely online gamers. So we'll most likely be drinking and smoking weed or something, more like a gathering to share loads of movies and muzic.

But still, what are some fun & easy games (FPS or whatever) to play in a LAN? Keep in mind that these guy have crappy computers, so don't bother posting doom 3 or something :icon26:

I need 2 or 3 FPS games and fun games like RC Racer or something.

Quakeworld, Deathmatch 2 mode.
I prefer Deathmatch 3, 'cos items still respawn, but mode 2 does level the playing field somewhat, and makes for some really fast games.
Been playing a shedload with the YakYak lads.
HL2 feels like yer wading through mollasses in comparison.

At LANS I goto we have one 350MHz computer. So we play:

Red Alert 2.
Rollcage.
Homeworld 1 (great for stoners btw).

For some thing different, a little more realistic, but still fast-paced, you could try Soldier of Fortune 2. It'll play on a pretty crappy machine.

I got a rock that was used to scribble plans to kill a wooly mammoth back in the day. It's a computer because it helped cro magnon neanderthal whatever to 'calculate' his plan.

It's pretty old

I probably should have said that on earlier LAN we played BF1942 and Serious Sam 2. Those are top fun games for players who don't play online that much.

We prolly gonna try CS:Source but I think most computers will run on it ultra low setting then.

Re-Volt is also one of the games we played and it's fun, but boring after a while.

I think the games for this lan will be:

BF1942
Need for Speed: Underground
RTCW, COD, or RTCW:ET
CS:S or CS 1.6 (depends on system settings)
No quake, because it's simply not fun for guys who never played it.
And I need some idiot game like Re-Volt or Airfix Dogfighter or something.

I'll try Worms Armageddon, never played it tho.

Does anyone know any games in the likes of Serious Sam?
