yeah, but it's apple's entry level laptop, not their gaming box. Quite a few laptops at that position have the GMA950 so it's a quite inconsequential really.

Its not targeted to the gamer, so it clearly has its niche. I figure if someone wants to do hardcore gaming on a MacBook they'd go for a high-end MacBook Pro to get the extra CPU power or something. :shrug:

You miss my point i think. I'm not expecting it to push the latest stuff (though that would have been nice), but to expect it to be able to play some older games makes as much sense as expecting it to be able to play movies or music.

How many frames will the 950 push in Q3?

It won't be completely chronic. At a guess it would push 75+FPS on low settings.

The chip itself will run some of the latest gen stuff (D3, HL2) but only on the absolute lowest settings and at about 10FPS.

So tuning it down you'll probably get 50-75. One could assume Q3 will be similar.
