Q4 - Placebo Effect (wvwq4dm1) Final

Post by wviperw »

Placebo Effect is a map that was first intended for CPMA, but by a series of unfortunate events (read: real life), got pushed off until now. The map is (hopefully) unlike any other Q4 map you've played so far and tends to inherit its fast-paced, action-packed traits more from aerowalk and cpm1a than from Lost Fleet or Galang. Not only that, but it now comes in a sexy blue color theme for your dueling pleasure!

Looks nice, if not a tad dark. I cnat help but think those big blue tubes would be casting a nice light effect on the map.

Shame there's no equivalent of CPMA for Q4 (Q4W doesn't count). :( This map gives me an excuse to startup Q4 again though(for the first time since the 1.2 patch).

Edit: bah, instantly turned off by the looks generated by this unfinished engine. :icon8: Those sharp transitions of the lighted areas are so ugly (at the shards at the walkway opposite of MH for instance)! At LG, aren't the texures on those bars with all the tubes in between misaligned where they change from vertical to sloped?

Those shots look great... may the day come that I can build something half as nice for Q4... hope :)

Alas the Oak Bot will not use the included aas file, and needs to compile its own file. Not a problem per se. But that file is so broken that the bot won't play.

Possibly used the wrong clipping?

Most other custom maps and retail maps work pretty well.
