vob file problems

Ok so i have this vob file i want to play and i'm having trouble with it.

I can load it using zoomplayer, but there's no picture, only sound.

gspot doesn't give any info on the video codec used.

I have ffdshow and divx and xvid and all - still no luck.

there are some other files in the directory with .bup and .ifo but they're quite small.

Do i need dvd software to watch? If so, anyone know of any free ones?

Also, Media Player Classic should fulfill your need for a DVD Player + Decoder.

got it to work with dvdshrink, but audio is very choppy - trying media player classic now.
