Totally new, totally lost! HELP!

:dork:
Heya folks!
I used to build maps for Doom. I had alot of fun doin it. I wanted to try mapping for q3. I thought "Hey, how hard could it be??"
So I downloaded GTKRadiant. I made a room. I was happy. Now I'm stuck. I can't make 2 adjoining rooms! I can't even figure out how to make a door! Can one of you nice folks please point me toward a BASIC tutorial for beginners? I'd sure appreciate it. This is alot more difficult than Doom Builder was :p .

Thanks so much in advance!

What you want to check is our sticky thread:

Starting Quake Mapping - Link Resources

There you should be able to find everything you need.

Note: Even though I never built anything for DOOM, I did build several Duke Nukem 3D maps. And trust me... there are huges differences in DOOM vs. Q3A mapping-wise.

I have 2 rooms! Connected! You guys rule. Expect to see some new maps from me in a month or so - I'm taking a break from the game to learn map building and I have some killer ideas. Thanks so much!

As someone who used to map for DOOM, I find mapping for Q3 more fun once you get the ins and outs of the editor. Good luck and have fun. :)
