Installing custom mods on Macintosh

Post by vpredoehl »

I have yet to successfully install a custom mod I have downloaded. The zip file is either corrupt, or the pk3 is unzipped as a folder. I have a Macintosh and I hear that on Windows, it is unzipped for you. What do I have to use to unzip these things?

not with that attitude

didnt i tell you in an other thread that mods are usually crossplatform?
if its a pk3 unzipped as a folder, just keep it as a pk3 (you may need to rename it from .zip to .pk3).
stick it in its own folder and youre pretty much done.

mods have readme's. read them

I'm sorry about the attitude, that's not the way I am. I want to get this issue resolved because some of these mods are 30MB+ and autodownloading in quake only goes 3K/s for some of them. I would rather download them off a web site if I can. Your response seemed to kill any chance of getting information from others. I will try as you suggest. Thanks.
