I'm getting around to this very late, but: I've updated my maps "Heat" and "FastFry" to include the addon.conf file for auto-download.
The maps are NOT different in any other way; I have not been refining them.. It's just a new pk4 with the addon.conf file.

You know, every now and again.. You just kind of have to get up and tell everybody you F****ed up.. and this is one of those times.
When I tested the pk4s above, I was testing autodownload on a dedicated server.. I didn't, say, look to see if the files came up okay in the map list in the game menu.. and they didn't.
Thanks to Hex for spotting this, and not only spotting it but taking the time to rip into my pk4 to see WHY the problem was happening..
Same file links work.. only now, less annoying to USE..
