WIndows 64 bit

Post by corpse »

Is there a secret to installing Quake3 on windows 64 bit. It won't do it as is, meaning everything stock.

Try just dragging quake3.exe and the baseq3 folder straight across from the disk.

This does work, thanks.

The .exe still doesnt work, but if you go to the .exe within the baseq3 folder then it does.

No, I mean when I dragged the baseq3 folder to the desktop and then also dragged the .exe from the disk to the desktop, it wouldnt work. Got the same message....something like "its a valid image file but wont work on this system...or something like that.

But, within the baseq3 folder, there is an .exe file and double clicking on that one works and then game installed fine.

BTW, is the "no cd" built into the 1.32PR? It's a pain to have to keep putting the cd in.

Obviously I havent put 1.32 into it yet.

Q3A works perfectly fine and is totally installable like every other Windows, on win xp 64.

Evidently your shortcut wasn't mapped to the right location or EXE.
