Trying Samuael Adams Boston Lager.

Not too sure yet, It's a bit more bitter than what I'm used to. I think it could grow on me though. Got my usual Shiner in the fridge though jst in case.

Most of Sam Adams' products are outstanding. They're actual beers, but they're made in the US!

I've been working my way through the Mendocino Brewing Company's offerings, started with Red Hawk Amber Ale, then Eye of the Hawk Select Ale. Going to try the White Hawk Pale Ale next, then maybe the Blackhawk Stout. It's quite tasty stuff, nice and hoppy. Makes me want to screech and dive on things, though.

Lol, yeah, I've been wanting to try a lot more different brands. I like the Boston Lager, just going to take some adjusting to. I plan on trying the whole line. Some of that you listed sounds pretty interesting as well. I drank crap beer for so long that I just got tired of it.

Heineken is ok, but rather weak. I had a Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale at the Flying Saucer this evening, followed by a Hoegaarden. :icon14:

You can never go wrong with a Sam Adams. Even the Cherry Wheat.

Tho your cherry wheat is a bit early, im betting it was last years brew. Not top fermented means it can get old in the bottle. Old in bottle means a bit skunky and bitter. Means a bad drink. Check the dates first. If theres sediment when you tip the bottle, in this case, it aint good.

Just a pro tip.

Just got off work and am going to take a shower and head to a party in 15 mins. With some new money in my pocket maybe I'll pick some up.

I'm 19 plus I paid the thing.

:smirk:

And no, I've never had Sam Adams. The only American beers I've tried have been Budweiser and Coors and both taste like water.

yes, please do not judge the states with those beers. there are plenty of microbrewers that make fantastic beers. sam adams is one of the few commercial beers that are actually good.

Though I used to love the stuff, Heineken's lost it's appeal to me since I started on the stouts/bitters and porters.
Budweiser and Coors are the liquid equivalent to ditch-weed, after drinking a few, I ALWAYS wind up with a headache. I remember seeing some pics of doomy's piss-up with a couple of toothless limeys holding budweisers... Maybe it just tastes a hell of a lot better overseas

*picks chunk of plaque from blackened maw*

it does, but not a hell of a lot. budweiser makes a change from stella, and it fits a handful of criteria that the english really look for in a beer:

* you can drink it like water.
* it doesn't make your burps smell as bad as stella does, or make you burp as much.
* it comes in a distinctive bottle, so anyone getting the drinks in can just ask if you want another.
* it's easy to carry from the bar, even if you're contorting your hands to hold a bunch of pint glasses.
* it doesn't make you as likely to start on your mates as stella does.
* it comes in a bottle, so if one of your mates starts on you, you can belt them around the head with it.

tried a few proper beers from america at the beer festival in town last year and they weren't bad at all.
