Last two Argentina games clearly showed that they are very beatable.

however that can't happen because they're on the same side of the draw. they could meet in the SF but it's frankly unlikely imho

Mexico played awesome. I'd loved it if they managed to go all the way, sadly, the 'best' team pulled the longest straw yet again.

are you sure ?
i thought if england beat the might of the ecuadorians then they either face portugal or nederlands in the QF and france / brazil / ghana / spain in the semi? with germany in the final ?

nope. you're right about portugal or holland in QFs but SFs is argentina or germany most likely. brazil, france, ghana, spain etc are in the other half

I'm very partial and I agree
Not just because I'm behind England but I'm enjoying how Germany are playing too. Failing that then I'd like the Dutchies to go all the way.

you're not wrong. our open play is rubbish. endless wasted chances in front of ecuador's goal, poor passing etc

Yeah, picked up a bit after the freekick though, but they seriously need to work on their attention or w/e if they have any plans of getting somewhere in this WC.

Most of our players are great, but we don't work that well as a team.
I think Lennon should start in future, every time I've seen him play he's really good.

Actually, I think you're wrong. England-Germany world cup final is a definite possibilty. Unless I'm misreading the bracket here.

But do you think England has enough heart to make it?

heart? yes. creativity, passing and control? no.
either way, the quarter final should be a good match.

also, even though i think england hasn't been playing well enough to win the world cup or even go far, its not unusual that a team scrapes their way into the final.
2002-Germany
1998-France (though this is arguable (this team was lucky IMO. in euro2000 they were great though))
1994-Italy
1990-Argentina
