Channel4 news (which John Snow usually presents) is good for news and I watch regularly but even I can see they are pretty staunch lefties and their coverage of anything usually reflects that.

In the I/P conflict, they will almost always side with the Palestinians. They seem to see it as 'They need all the help they can get' and I suppose I agree after watching bits and pieces of US news - the bias the other way is overwhelming and it's no wonder that the shit spewed over various boards over the last month from Americans is a great mix of stupid and angry without having much in the way of facts.

Any Americans here rate ABC world news in terms of impartiality? how does it compare? its one of the few American news programs I can watch all the way through as broadcast but the 'World' component is sorely lacking usually. Apart from that, CNN trundles along and occasionally makes a good point but thats all i've seen on actual TV. The 'World Series' mentality seems to prevail, because when it comes down to it, you don't seem to give a shit either way as long as you can get to work the next day and stuff.

Christ no. If I had to choose, I would say that Israel should do the decent thing and back off like the civilised country they portay themselves as. The moral high ground (not much of that left) is always better than being elbows deep in gore while shouting about how the other bloke started it.

There's really not much doubt after Quana, the fruit/farm labourers and the power station mentioned in the channel 4 clip posted that things have gone way too far. Plus the fact that the kidnapped soldiers were only a convenient excuse for an operation that has been in the planning for what? about a year or longer?

None of that stops channel 4, just like most news services having some sort of bias - they are made by people with opinions after all. My original question was mainly to see if the news in the states is as biased as it is painted over here. Is that another bias?

As R00k said, I find myself looking at all sorts of news sources, some for one side, some for the other. the truth is usually inbetween but that doesn't alter the fact that everyone, news services included have a point of view. Having a kneejerk reaction for whatever reason is generally bad,
