So now that Corel owns Paintshop Pro...

Post by Fender »

what's a decent free graphics/photo program? Simple crop, shrink, palette reduction for icon type stuff and brightness/contrast/balance for simple photo enchancement. I used to hack PSP8 every 60 days to re-enable the trial period, but now I've got a new laptop and don't have the old install.

Irfanview will do all that.

why does corel buying out PSP mean you need a new graphics prog?

actually corel photopaint is top class, but not free, so GIMP or PSP4 off a cover disc is the answer

Wolfenstein was my first ever warez.
Bought my first PC to be able to play it actually, and therefore somehow felt legitimized in doing so.

Sort of. :) I didn't have any qualms about deleting a simple registry entry for the past couple of years to keep PSP free, but I'm not going to pirate a $400 software package.

Don't ask about my XP install... :paranoid:

I don't really understand the difference, but go with what you're comfortable with.

BTW: For really simple stuff you might want to give Neopaint a try.
Not free, demo comes with a fully functioning package with trial period of 20 days I think, but considering its cost and following your lines of reasoning, you should have less qualms about extending that trial period a bit ;)

Ah remember back in the days when they called it warez,
and they had 100+ zip files to download on a 56k,
and it used to take you a week or longer.

I've got a keygen for PS CS2 that gives you activation codes that must be applied when installing the trial version. Boom! It's activated, gg full version.

PSP7 here, and sticking with it. Opens fast, 32mb installer. I pretty much hate anything and everything else.
