TSA screening faces for "evil intent"

Post by +JuggerNaut+ »

DULLES, Va., Aug. 16 — As the man approached the airport security checkpoint here on Wednesday, he kept picking up and putting down his backpack, touching his fingers to his chin, rubbing some object in his hands and finally reaching for his pack of cigarettes, even though smoking was not allowed.

Two Transportation Security Administration officers stood nearby, nearly motionless and silent, gazing straight at him. Then, with a nod, they moved in, chatting briefly with the man, and then swiftly pulled him aside for an intense search.

Sounds like figity (sp?) smokers who don't have a smile plastered on their face will have fun in airports now...

Dude probably just had a heavy backpack and needed a hit of nicotine, which would explain why he was figiting so much.

Better watch out the next time you're at the supermarket and can't decide on which type of cereal you want to buy.

if they apply that to the airport i fly at next, then they would be strip searching me for sure.

I hate flying, I smoke and when I am in a situation that I cant smoke, I tend to either play with my cigarette box or simulate smoking with a pen/pencil.

When I am nervous/bored I play with my keyring, which is a minature pool ball on a chain.

Last time I flew I didn't even think about the fact I had a lighter in my pocket. I was glad I only had my $1 bic and not my nice zippo :(

Don't sweat the lighter, a gun nut friend of mine forgot he had a fully loaded Glock in his carry on bag, about a year ago. :icon25:

He got a healthy fine, but apparently this happens with surprising regularity at the Richmond, VA airport, so once the authorities were convinced he had no terrorist intent, some nice, long gun collection discussions ensued; cops dig their guns.
