eventually gonna do the access port with turbo back exhaust which is projected to put me at around 270ish hp.

Are you chipped yet? Chip + turboback = teh win for a WRX, especially the STi. Are you getting a 3"?

I know a guy who swapped an STi engine in his WRX wagon. Super fucking fast.

nah, the access port is the chip. im going pure cobb as they know their shit when it comes to the WRX or pretty much anything subaru related. i have a friend who just did the access port + turboback and he ran a 13.7 quarter mile. pretty decent for spending barely 2k in upgrades.

lucky me i live about 5 minutes away from mountainous back roads that are fun as hell. it's a good place to spot sports cars during the day and during the night hours you'll run accross the occasional spirited driver such as myself.

last night was my first run around the roads with the rear sway...shit what a difference it makes! i went ass out on the first S-Curve and nearly shit myself haha. im slower now though as i have to relearn the handling a bit

i was debating doing this. before i do that though im thinking about going to a u-pull-it junkyard and trying to find an STi tranny as mine definitely wont be able to handle that much power.

did he just upgrade the block or did he do all the other bits and pieces like fuel injectors and whatnot?

LAggy? did you Swap out the turbo? the T23/5 that was on there shouldent be laggy, you should be making Full boost at about 1800/2100 rpm..

here...to give you better idea of the roads im on take a look at this map...

skyline and germantown are the main attractions. people will actually drive an hour or more from out of town just to hit up these two roads. the only thing you cant tell from the map though is the elevation changes. skyline is basically the ridge of the west hills here where all the other roads lead up/down depending on your direction of travel in relation to skyline.

hmm thats cool, just keep in mind public back roads are NOT a good place to learn the handling characteristics and capabilities of a car nor is it a remotely good idea to be passively pushing the limits anyway. Something to keep in mind when you get too caught in the momment of excitment is that there is a very good reason rally drivers have full on rollcages,fireproof suits, helmets, a thousand and one other safety equipment bits and onsite paramedics with an ambulance/helicopter.

Not that I'm against responsible spirited driving in anyway.. but holy hell as of late there are just far too many wannabe mad tyte touge ricers up there trying to play Initial D/fast'n'furious games who think that since they saw something on a cartoon/movie that they feel justified to use a public backroad as their own little racetrack. Lord knows darwin is working overtime thanks to this uprise in the states.
Anway, be careful on your spirited drives. Have you ever considered attending an autocross or trackday type event? Those are the best events to learn a vehicles dynamics from do to not only the safe and controlled environment but also being able to talk to other experienced drivers in your area. An autocross driving school( such as the Evolution Performance Driving School) or to a lesser extent(but still very valuable and FUN(and affordable!) an Drivers Edge type event at your local race course are GREAT as well and highly recommended.

What tires do you run? Have you altered any of the alignment settings on your suspension from factory specs?
