I usually hate lugging around a camera/camcorder but I think I trip to England would be worthy of both. I wish I had gotten the next model up sony digi-cam that would take stills onto a compact flash card.

Take this for instance. On the way to London last week I was stuck on the south bound M1 J8 directly opposite Jeremy Clarkson on the north bound M1 in his GT40. Both stuck in traffic, both very pissed of. The only difference was I didn’t people pointing at me.
The day after on the way home I had Zoe Ball behind me in a great big black range rover sport. I took a pic but it’s not very good because I didn’t want to
A: look like a pap and
B: didn’t want to die at 110mph.

I don't want to carry around like 10kg of $6000 worth of equipment, that can get stolen, etc. I'll have my miniDV cam with me though.

london's pretty safe as long as you don't wander off of the beaten track. anything you'd carry around at home is safe to carry in london.

you could bring just a body, spare battery and one dedicated lens. Maybe a standard cheap zoom.

Paying 6 grand for a camera only to leave it at home is a waste of money... especially when the cam and one lens don't cost anything near that much
