tried putting the same address through again, randomly clicked on some marketing survey, then it asked for the details/email address again - it recognised the email address and said i couldn't have a key because i already had one, then it actually sent one.Freakaloin wrote:yeah same happened to me and a buddy...no key...moron alert???...
I think there's a significant difference content-wise between a fullblown game like Unreal Tournament, Quake Wars and Battlefield on one side and free games like Enemy Territory and FEAR MP (which is just one small part of a retail product) on the other side.Mat Linnett wrote:Sorry if I wasn't clear, but with this being id, I'm under no illusions that they're going to try and sell it for the same price as all of their other titles.ctrlnuke wrote:Why is that in issue? Not being able to charge top dollar is a GOOD thing.Mat Linnett wrote:...I'm really looking forward to ET: QW, but I don't see how they can charge top dollar for it with things like this happening.
So expect to pay £44.95 for ET: QW on release.

"production and presentation" wise... counterstrike is shit compared to its half-life parents. yet everyone plays the crap game.Eraser wrote:I think there's a significant difference content-wise between a fullblown game like Unreal Tournament, Quake Wars and Battlefield on one side and free games like Enemy Territory and FEAR MP (which is just one small part of a retail product) on the other side.Mat Linnett wrote:Sorry if I wasn't clear, but with this being id, I'm under no illusions that they're going to try and sell it for the same price as all of their other titles.ctrlnuke wrote: Why is that in issue? Counter-Strike, both as a platform and as a game, offers an incredible amount more depth than HL multiplayer.Dr_Watson wrote:"production and presentation" wise... counterstrike is shit compared to its half-life parents. yet everyone plays the crap game.Eraser wrote:I think there's a significant difference content-wise between a fullblown game like Unreal Tournament, Quake Wars and Battlefield on one side and free games like Enemy Territory and FEAR MP (which is just one small part of a retail product) on the other side.Mat Linnett wrote: Sorry if I wasn't clear, but with this being id, I'm under no illusions that they're going to try and sell it for the same price as all of their other titles.

Even with the tools released too...?
Yes, you get more maps in UT, but that's about the only difference (maybe one or two more modes too).
And as for Battlefield, the maps may be huge, but can you honestly tell me that there's massive variation in gameplay? It's pretty much one gametype and that's yer lot. And ET offers a much smoother and better team game in my eyes.
I think this makes it very hard for more commercial releases to justify their cost...

Although I've had the full game since release, I'd never really bothered with the MP before, so took this opportunity to jump in with this fresh influx of people.
It's fun.
The weapons are all so hideously overpowered it's purely a case of who's got the quicker trigger finger, but that does add a certain nervous urgency to it.
I've settled on CTF as my mode of choice, mainly because there are actually some light maps in the CTF rotation. And flag running in such a lethal game is quite a rush
But this combined with the original Enemy Territory and Enemy Territory Fortress make me wonder how anybody seeking to release purely MP titles in the future is going to be able to charge for them.
I'm really looking forward to ET: QW, but I don't see how they can charge top dollar for it with things like this happening.
The MP is shite, movement is slow, no trick jumping what so ever - Layout and design of the maps are quite uninteresting as well. I realise they wanted to do something different, but at least make the speed quicker "oh dudes that guy is walking away with our flag...."

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.
It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.
I am now sick.
