Quite refreshing to see some realistic battles without LotR'esque bullshit.

V for Vendetta - 8/10 - Not as good as the book.

V: Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.
[carves V into wall]

V: The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.
[giggles]

V: Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

Evey Hammond: Are you like a crazy person?

V: I'm quite sure they will say so.

The Libertine 6/10. Depp gives an excellent performance, and the film appears to do a good job of capturing 17th century London, meaning everything was filthy. :olo: The dialogue was riveting, and the costumes and sets were great, but the story was basically one long character essay. Overall the film was decent, but pretty much in love with the smell of its own farts.

V for Vendetta - 8/10

I liked it a lot :icon14:

Some of V's speeches in the earlier bits made my skin crawl. It somehow felt like the film lost some of it's momentum near the end, shame.

I probably haven't ever had that much fun watching a movie. Hell, it was an experience

Miami Vice

Pretty stock script with no twists, I can live with that. Great cinematography, sequencing and locations. Bad casting, problems with pacing the dialogue for the first half of the film.

Proof that Heat's exellent gun battle sequence was no fluke. This one had less impact but was still very well executed.

What What.

ps bonus points for casing isaac de bancole (Ghost Dog, Sopranos) in any role, though he deserves still larger roles IMO, and more screen time.

Only Yesterday

Seems you can't go wrong with Studio Ghibli. Perhaps not their absolute best, but pretty damn good anyway. :icon14:

Miami Vice - 6/10 (disappointing, probably because everyone i knew who saw it said it was like 'heat', but it really wasn't)

Snakes on a Plane - 5/10 (daft as fuck. only samuel l. jackson saved this from being total wank)
