I remember there being some tweaks that didnt give more FPS in timedemos and such, but seemed to really smooth things out a bit on-screen. The gameplay improved somehow, but the rendering rate didnt get affected much. I've lost track of these tweaks though. My current card pulls several hundred FPS in Q3 with everything maxed out.

Cristi has a 1.1GHz processor, if she's (I'm guessing its a she, this IS the internet) who you're refering to.

Not on modern hardware. On older systems, it does.

THERE ARE NO GIRLS ON THE INTERNET

Anyway, I guess I totally missed that part about the processor. Yeah, upgrading the video card will be the only way to get decent performance.

You will need a the required power supply, because when you start to use the GPU in the games you'll not be able to power it and your comp will crash. Previously you were probably using an integrated GPU that takes a little power, but nothing extensive. A separate GPU will take much more power than the integrated one.

I have 3 80mm Fans a PCI sound card, a PCI network adapter a 80GB HDD a 1.1GHz CPU and 512MB ram, do you think is to much for a 110W PSU? But if I put a GeForve 4 with 64 dose it going to work with a 110W PSU?

THANKS

Most of that works for rtcw as well. Just save the config as autoexec.cfg, put it in your 'base wolf' directory and it will be enabled the next time you run the game.

You don't have a 110w PSU. You're thinking of voltage. Your PSU should be fine.

my rtcwET runs like poo online, yet I baught a v-card (6500 256mb)almost twice as strong as my previous one(4200 128mb)... is it the netcode or is it my cpu? it's a 2.3 celeron and 3/4 of a gig ram, it shouldn't get 10fps dips so often, but i do play on servers with atleast 20 players

are there any specific changes in the cfg settings that help with the cpu load?

To be on the safe side I'd upgrade that PSU if it is as low as you're talking. Putting in a 250 or 300watt PSU will not mean you'll be sucking 250 or 300 watts continuously, but rather that you have the capacity to do so if required. The wattage used will depend on the components in your system and how much you're using them. With the 110/120watt one you currently have you may be running the PSU at its limit, which is fine if you're not running processor-intensive tasks like games and such, but if you add more components and crank up the juice through them, you may risk overloading your PSU and blowing it, resulting in crashing and possibly harming your computer.

My PSU conector it has only 14 or 15pins and its not a standard PSU its a Comaq PSU and it has the shape not like a ATX PSU.

Today I have overclocked my CPU to 1,3GHz
And I could browse the internet play Quake III but 3DMark 2001 or Prime 95 crashes, But I thin for a Coppermine core its fine.

Here is a link for Image with CPU-Z screen shot

Well, I'm not savvy with company-specific hardware. With PCs I get all the components separately for this specific reason. You could try the new video card but I'd expect you'd just get more crashing and glitches as you saw with 3dMark 2001 and Prime95.
